FRIENDS of Waterloo Region Museum Silent Quilt Auction
The FRIENDS of Waterloo Region Museums are holding a silent auction for a beautiful, hand-crafted Mennonite quilt. Quilts of the calibre are highly prized locally, nationally and even internationally. Two creative local women have generously partnered with the FRIENDS and all proceeds from the sale will support programming and activities at the museums.
This “Solar Flare” quilt is a Queen size quilt made from 100% cotton fabric and duplicates the colours and movement of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
Quilts of this kind are valued at well over $1000 and the starting bid is $500 and bids should be in increments of $25.
The silent auction will close on December 31st at midnight and will be awarded based on the highest bid received at that time. Due to the high volume, current bid may not be in real time. In the event that bids with matching values are received, the first bid received with that value will be the successful bid.
