Our interactive museum birthday party packages provide the perfect way to celebrate your special day! We will work with you to make your party a memorable and fun occasion for all your guests. Birthday Parties at Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum
Did someone say “party”? Have your birthday celebration at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum!
Each party theme has a flat fee that ranges from $300, which accommodates 10 children. Additional children are $30 per child. Birthday parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays only, from either 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
All packages are 2 hours and include:
- Hands-on activities with a museum representative (1 hour)
- 1 hour of free time in a party room; plates, cutlery, and tablecloths provided
- No cost for adults
- Free parking
- You may bring in your own food and beverages
You are welcome to bring your own decorations, but latex or helium balloons and candles are prohibited in all party spaces. This includes birthday cake candles. Decorations can only be affixed to walls using green painter's tape, which the museum can provide.
Teddy Bear Garden Party: Ages 3-7
From the moment the party begins, kids and their teddy bears will be swept into an enchanting day of dress-up, play, and creativity. The fun starts with the Teddy Bear Parade, where little ones and their bears can strut their stuff in colorful costumes and accessories. Next up, it’s tea time — with a twist! The teddy bears forgot the snacks, so kids will go on a playful scavenger hunt through the museum to gather everything needed for the perfect garden tea party. Full of imagination, exploration, and sweet memories, the Teddy Bear Garden Party is the perfect way to celebrate your little one’s big day!

Game On!: Ages 6-11
Start your engines — it’s time for a high-speed, high-fun “Game On!” Birthday Party at the museum! With video game thrills, retro game laughs, and non-stop action, this birthday party is a total blast for kids who love to play — no matter how they like to race!

- Egg hunt through the galleries
- Playing a variety of board games, such as Twister
- Playing both vintage and new Nintendo video games (staff help children take turns)

Mini Scientists: Ages 3-6
Get ready for a birthday celebration bursting with bubbles, giggles, and science magic! At the Mini Scientist Party, your little one and their friends will step into a quirky lab where imagination meets hands-on discovery. Led by a lively “zany scientist” host in a full lab coat and goggles, mini scientists will dive into exciting, age-appropriate experiments designed just for them. With laughter, learning, and plenty of mess (the fun kind!), the Mini Scientist Party is the perfect mix of curiosity, creativity, and birthday joy — all in one unforgettable day.

Calling all junior scientists! Step into the world of Lab Rats, where birthday fun meets hands-on experiments that wow and inspire. Get ready to create explosive elephant toothpaste eruptions, power up a real citrus battery, and reveal secret messages with invisible ink. Explore the colorful magic of cabbage chemistry and finish with a gooey, stretchy slime-making session — the perfect take-home experiment! If your kid loves to experiment, explore, and have fun, the Lab Rats Birthday Party is the perfect recipe for an unforgettable celebration full of curiosity and discovery!

Astronaut Academy: Ages 7-11
Blast off into an out-of-this-world astronaut-themed birthday at the museum! Young astronauts are in for a cosmic adventure, filled with space food sampling where they can try fun, freeze-dried treats just like real astronauts, and an incredible star show, where they’ll explore our backyard night sky and learn about constellations and galaxies far away. Your young astronauts will create their own galaxy slime using special space ingredients – stretchy, squishy, and sparkly like the Milky Way itself. With interactive activities, educational fun, and plenty of space-themed excitement, this astronaut birthday party is the perfect way for kids to celebrate and explore the wonders of space in a museum setting!

Birthday Parties at Schneider Haus National Historic Site
It’s party time! Choose from 7 different birthday themes and celebrate your special day with us at Schneider Haus!
Parties are a flat rate of $200, which accommodates 10 children. Additional children are $20 per child. Birthday parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Some party themes are only available during certain time slots, please submit a party request for details. Each birthday party package includes the following:

Walk on the Wild Side: Ages 3-5
Foxes, otters, and bears, oh my! Take a walk on the wild side with this special birthday theme. Track animals found right in our backyard with scavenger hunts, games, and crafts. It’s going to be a wild time!
Haus p-ART-y: Ages 5-13
Love making art? This Print-Making party is wonderfully colourful and messy! Want to show off your creations? Bring in a gently used item of clothing, a pillow case, tote bag to upcycle and print directly on it for all to admire!
Kitchen Chemistry - Twist Yourself a Pretzel: Ages 5-13
Science and baking combine to create a tasty treat! Do you prefer your pretzels salty or sweet? Can’t decide - why not make both? Participants will eat their creations warm out of the oven!
Makerspace Junior: Ages 5-8
Does your kiddo love to experiment and get messy? Look no further than our Makerspace Junior party! Kids get the chance to get messy making slime and exploring sticky, gooey oobleck. After a bit of messy play, kids will try their hand at an engineering challenge based on the storybook “It’s not a box!”.
History Mysteries: Ages 8-13
Calling all super sleuths, we need your help! Party-goers will receive a top-secret briefing about a missing artifact. Gather the clues throughout the historic Haus and grounds and piece together evidence to solve the mystery!
