Volunteering at the Region of Waterloo Museums

The Region of Waterloo Museums (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, Schneider Haus National Historic Site, and McDougall Cottage Historic Site) are engages enthusiastic and dynamic volunteers who enjoy working with the public.

Applying for a Volunteer Opportunity

  1. Review the qualifications, due to high level of interaction with the public, many of our positions require customer service and presentation skills or specialized skills.
  2. Share your skillset with us by completing our Volunteer Application

Our Screening and Selection Process

  • We appreciate everyone's interest in volunteering; however, we have a responsibility to take reasonable measures to ensure volunteer engagement is safe and appropriate.
  • Applications will be reviewed to ensure there is a good match between the volunteer's interests, skills and availability and the position requirements.
  • We will contact individuals and invite them to an interview based on the match between the volunteer's interests, skills and availability and available positions.
  • Upon completion of a successful interview, applicants are required to provide two references.
  • Individuals will then receive notification about the next steps in the process.
